all good suggetions for Hanks, but I would prefer him as a ‘big cameo’ like Pike and not really part of the core cast. I think Gary Sinise is perfect for McCoy (if the film is indeed set at or around the time of TOS)

Tom Hanks could be a good Christopher Pike. It would be cool to see Chirs Pike hand-off command of the Entperise to James….T….Kirk.

Star Trek ,as a francise,is bigger than Bond.My point…Connery originated the Bond character just as Shatner,Nimoy & co. originated Kirk & Spock.I have NO PROBLEM with a new, re-invigorated ,Re-interpreted Star Trek with an all star cast.My Guess is it’ll probably be the next time I go to a cinema.

sorry cam I cant take credit for the quotes, as the link indicates \”Grunberg tells SciFi Wire\”

they have a bit of an advantage being owned by NBC and therefore being let onto the set of NBC\’s new fall show Heroes. I have seen the pilot of that show, it really is quite good. As is the pilot for NBC\’s Studio 60…which is even better.

As I stated, the Hanks and Damon stuff is just previous reports not new info. I am only speculated that Hanks (a huge Trekkie) still wants in to a Trek film.
