Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich über eine Star Trek: Extended Edition gesprochen, bei welcher die Originalserie mit neuen und zeitgemäßen Effekten ausgestattet und auf DVD released werden sollte. Nun, das mit der DVD-Veröffentlichung hat sich vorerst erledigt, stattdessen wird Star Trek zum 40. Jubiläum mit neuen Effekten erneut im TV(!) ausgestrahlt werden. Und zwar in HDTV!! Spannende Sache… So, nun noch was in eigener Sache: Es ist gut möglich, dass es in nächster Zeit zu weniger Einträgen kommen wird, da andere Dinge Vorrang haben werden. Nichts desto trotz werde ich hin und wieder versuchen, dem Namen dieses Blogs weiterhin gerecht zu werden. I must admit when I watched it recently on DVD I thought that it would really be cool if they did something like this. It will also give them a chance to replace the photon torpedo launches with phaser fire, which is what the characters are saying. I noticed in the trailer for this episode that they were using phaser fire, so I must conclude that the special effects guys decided that the torpedos would be more effect in combat with an invisible enemy. Still, its disconcerting. I'm thinking that the Doomday Machine is another that would really benefit from a refit. “Balance of Terror”, excellent!

I must admit when I watched it recently on DVD I thought that it would really be cool if they did something like this. It will also give them a chance to replace the photon torpedo launches with phaser fire, which is what the characters are saying.
