I'm much more interested in Browne's Deela and her outfit. Anyone with any links about this? Was she naked under that thing? Very hot for even today's TV. Bottom line is - I'd like to see more of her, bottom and all.

This is one of the treats of season 3. Other favorites are "The Tholian Web," "The Enterprise Incident," "Day of The Dove," and "All Our Yesterdays". For unintentionally funny, see Shat with PMS in "Turnabout Intruder." Deela is one of my all-time favorite Trek women - if you had to be stuck in time with someone... but Rael would leave a thumbtack on the bathroom floor, and then I'd be "damaged". Oh, well.
I'm betting the Eminar VII matte will be a 'riff' on the original, as this one is.
Beautiful matte, but I see some blurring at the matte line; thinking it was a feathered matte line and the BG was blurred to simulate camera distance. Hope to feel better on that after viewing. God the barrier in the WNMHGB preview looks stunning! Can't wait.

The third season isn't as bad as some fans make it out to be...

Here's the low lights:

1.) And the Children Shall Lead
2.) The Way to Eden
3.) Plato's Stepchildren

4.) Spock's Brain -- which I just consider poorly executed not really bad. Still, I do have a soft spot for that one because it's unintentionally funny!

I have to agree with what someone said earlier, CBS DIGITAL does indeed do great matte backgrounds.
I think the bleakness of it TOTALLY suits the scene (considering everyone is dead)and the fact that the colors look a little under-saturated is due, I'm assuming, to the fact that they are supposedly standing under a very grey sky.

However, I also agree that the stage lighting is a visual pain in the ass.

WELL DONE

That screen cap from the DVD is way over saturated...the colors are not nearly that bright.

Another intersting note - when TOS came out in 66-67 season, only 9% of US households had a color set. It wasn't until 1974 that color sets began to overtake B&W sets.

Looks pretty damn cool! It looks tons better even if there's still staginess apparent.
And Deela was hot, too!
