Some excellent ideas concerning livening up the backdrops, which have been somewhat proposed by some in the past, and which would require not too much effort or time I'm sure, and would drastically improve the overall presentation of this show. I echo your sentiments strongly.

I may be in the minority here, but I prefer the impulse engines to be dark, like they were in the original. I have no problem believing that they're glowing brightly in the infrared, even when they're dark, and that they become visible only when the throttle is wide open.

"Above all, a god needs compassion."
But spelling lessons would help too.

Gary Mitchell must've caught an old episode of Scooby Doo while in sickbay and just slipped up, making 'Tiberius' into 'Rirerius.'

Reading that interview with the team got me (over)thinking about the question
>Will the Enterprise ever fire red phasers?
and how to reconcile that with shots in Who Mourns for Adonis and The Apple

Just to toss a log on the speculative fires, how about... blue phasers for space targets; red for planetary targets, since atmospheric gases (at least Class-M atmospheres) scatter blue wavelengths more than red wavelengths (think red sunsets!). So, a red phaser should be scattered less by atmosphere and should deliver energy to target more efficiently.

Ahhh, fannish rationalization...
(and apologies for accidentally first posting this on the J2B board)

They could at least throw a bone to Darren and be nice about it. To pretend like they have no clue what he's doing is a bit elitist.

Actually, sounds like you're the one with the bug up your butt. Doing something stupid is still doing something stupid even if you explain why you did something stupid. The R should have been corrected. It's one of the most glaring continuity changes throughout the series. And it's text. They can make the Great Barrier look incredible, but they can't change an R to a T?
