Freezejeans, startrekshistory.com is trying to make sure that your clipboard remains empty, as part of their plan to make sure that no one re-saves its images. A little sneaky and underhanded, maybe, but not nefarious.

"39. cbowyer - February 3, 2007

Just saw the epsidoe, man Miss Jane Wyman really lays into Spock with that slap across the face. No CGI replacement needed there!"

Jane WYATT played Spock's mom. Jane Wyman was Ronald Reagan's first wife and was also an actress.

That site is great fun. The Lincoln scene appears only in script form. There are still shots of other deleted scenes, plus a trove of production shots. I'd love to lie and say I found it on my own, but someone posted another part of it in one of these threads.

#44 CmdrR - what a great scene! I don't remember "The Savage Curtain" as being particularly memorable (although I haven't watched it for decades, truth be told), but that scene -- or set of scenes -- are quite nice. I'd love to see the actual footage of the performances.

#44 CmdrR.
A Most Excellent Link you provided. Agreed, it would have been nice to have seen this segment in the episode.

I still have a day to wait to see this!
As for the CGI vs. MODEL debate, CGI is just a tool... another tool, which as with advancing technology, has replaced models more and more. Honestly, I couldn't care less so long as the results work... but there is something to be said about the process. The scratchbuilt model ships of the Original Star Wars owe a lot of their personality from the methods used to build them. Personally, I never had much of an issue with the Prequels use of technology... it was always about story and character for me, which was, in my opinion, what Lucas was far too rusty on. About twenty minutes into Revenge, I could not believe that Lucas would get to this point, and be done with Star Wars. Though, I wasn't estatic about the rest... I thought for the most part the Special F/X work had reached another epoch and Lucas was starting to get his space fantasy legs back.

For me, it's a little disheartening that it's likely some of the little glaring details won't be adressed... but I think it's better to look at this whole effort with the "glass half-full" mentality. ;-) And a tasty half glass it's been.

That's a shame, Greg. He was a VERY good Lincoln. I always thought "The Savage Curtain" was reaching a bit, but Bergere carried it off nicely. There's a part that probably would have made it better:
