Don’t forget the Serling-penned, Emmy-nominated Night Gallery pilot,
“They’re Tearing Down Tim Riley’s Bar,” starring none other than
William Windom (of Doomsday Machine fame).

(Wikipedia alleges that TTDTRB was one of the two works that
Serling wanted to be ‘most remembered for’. I can’t confirm this.)

(OT) btw, speaking of William Windom and his “Doomsdays”:

Windom guest starred in “Doomsday Minus One”, an episode
of Quinn Martin’s “Invaders” SF series; that episode aired
several months before “Doomsday Machine” in 1967.
Later, Windom was in a Barney Miller episode titled “Doomsday”.
And he voiced a character in a Sonic Hedgehog ep titled
“The Doomsday Project”. Add “Doomsday Machine”, and
we’re talking a total of four “Doomsdays” with Mr. Windom.
No, five, if you count his cameo in ST New Voyages “In Harm’s Way”.

(Hmm … I don’t think I’ve ever seen the two well-regarded
Twilight Zone episodes with Mr. Windom … will have to check em out.)

The older I get, the deeper my appreciation of Serling and his work grows. The original Twilight Zone is timeless and endlessly watchable. A true classic if ever there was one.
