The two things I love about this episode make it pure 60’s television.

Yeoman Barrows is attacked by Don Juan and her blouse is torn open. Kirk asks the traumatized woman with the tattered clothes if she “imagined” the attack. Those women and their imaginations! I guess women regularly “imagine” getting their clothes ripped off by Kirk all the time so that’s what he would think. No surprise, Roddenberry wrote this one!

And I love the way they get around the “no navels” network rule with the chorus girls by gluing buttons over them.

I’d like to suggest some ideas for Spockboy in case you are thinking of doing yet another of your famous Gag Reels for this episode. Show all the scenes of them running around, only sped up with the Benny Hill theme. Second idea: Kirk’s fight with Finnigan, use a lot of Three Stooges sound effects and classic lines. “Ooh! Wiseguy!”

If the editing crew acts according to form, they will snip out some important moments, including remastered effects, and leave in the long fight as is. Why be logical about it, and be informed about where to cut, now?

To Greg Stamper – Many thanks for the kind comments. Aircraft , especially WWII types are another great interest of mine along with TOS. While we each have our opinions about the details of this remastered project, I am grateful first of all that any attention is being paid to preserving and presenting STAR TREK and for rekindling this fan’s long time (from the days of network) affection for this milestone series. I appreciate the many creative and alternative ideas presented here (many quite passionately) out of a genuine concern to see STAR TREK live long and prosper. It certainly makes for entertaining reading. Can’t wait for STAR TREK XI!

It’s a little thing, but I have to pick up on your observant point of the way Kirk was filmed running in this. I too always thought this was extremely cinematic and excitingly shot… just hope the tiger’s chain is removed…
