Actually, you should write two intros… one that starts with Kirk, the other Picard. That way, the reader can decide which one begins the story.

Data – “Your actions Sir are entirely inappropriate and not indicative of the character attributes befitting a starship commander of your stature and reknown. May I suggest you cease hostilities and consider your course of actions in this circumstance.”

Kirk – “What is your primary function and purpose?”

Data – “I am an android, my primary function is to continue serving starfleet to the best of my capacity.”

Kirk – “You are flawed! Your logic is in error! Your primary function is to abide by the laws of robotics and serve humanity! Exercise your primary function! Help me kick the living shit out of this wannabe.”

Data – “Pardon me while I shut down and disseminate the particulars of this new paradigmn. ”

Troi – “Why are you doing this to us?? We are your friends. ”

Kirk – “See this?”

Troi – “yes?”

Kirk – “What is it?”

Troi – “your lap?”

Kirk – “That’s right, now sit in it.”
