More of Wheaton’s Kirk, Picard…and Wesley

The Kirk v Picard script contest is almost over…all submissions are in for all 4 rounds and the last scene will be decided this week. Wil Wheaton now has an ‘Encore performance’ to his previous (and popular) Kirk & Picard impersonations using lines from the contest submissions.

He also does some tongue in cheek Wesley for added fun. Keep track of the goings on at the Official Blog (run by yours truly)

Ugh.

will wheaton is funny. I hope he gets some good comic roles.

Wil Wheaton is indeen fantastic! I never knew he could do comedy so well. They should expand this KvP thing with him.

And that’s why, when it came time to spend $100,000,000 real dollars, Paramount went out and found a pro.
Fan fiction has its place, and that place is online.

I think Wil has been very unfairly treated by a lot of so called Star Trek fans over the years. I’ve always wondered whether deep down these people were really jealous of Wil Wheaton getting to spend a number of his teenage years actually ‘living’ Star Trek.
One of the biggest ideas from ST was IDIC so I say to all the Wesley/Wil haters out there, if you truly consider yourself a Star Trek fan, get over your problem. Its not Wil’s fault he got picked for the role. If anything, blame all the other child actors for being worse than him…….

A quick one for Wil if you are watching, love the Kirk impression. But as for Picard, yep, you’re right ‘it sucks’ :)

Peace and long life dudes.

yea hes good at Kirk , but his Picard does suck , ……………( i might as well be the first to say it ) …………and he really needs to work on his Wesley its just not very believable …..lol

^^^ That was funny.

IF he’s so talented then why must be attempt to imitate anyone? Its been often said that imitation is the greatest form of flattery but this is so lame.
True….its all in fun and so on….but why can’t he just be himself? I’d much rather have his unique insight of his time when he was on Star Trek instead of this half baked gunk. He could be (perhaps) in the new film but not this way.

Sounds like Picard as interpreted by Sean Connery…

“I’ll take The Rapists for $100, Number One.”

Popular with who? Not me. My 14 year old daughter does a better Shatner AND Stewart.

#5–jealous? Nah. I’m envious of EVERYONE who got to be in ST. My dislike for Wheaton is because of his personally childish and rude behavior he himself scribed in his website over the last two years, not because of Wesley.

Personally, I wish this site would stop giving him the platform he can’t get anywhere else. I agree with #4–let’s see what the professionals can do.

Yeah….some contest. The only ones missing are Bozo the clown and Ronald McDonald. This site will be auditioning cross eyed – crack smoking beer drinking chimps next. Only in America and the Internet!

As Kirk, Bozo would totally wipe the floor with McDonald.

Perhaps…..some choice though….Bozo’s Big Top with kiddie cartoons or Ronald McDonald and his busy hands and greasy food while eyeballing the children.

#14 – I’m with you on that. I don’t like Wheaton either. I was never a Wesley hater, though I always found the “Wesley saves the universe” plots to be fairly stupid. But that wasn’t his fault. When they wrote a good story based episode for him like “The First Duty” he did just fine.

Like you, the reason I don’t like him is that I don’t like his personality. He’s grating, pompous, childish, rude and condescending. In one word, obnoxious. I stopped reading his blog years ago for that reason.

I don’t hate him, I just don’t like the chap and I guarantee you I’m a long-time ST fan. He’s just not very affable. A fair actor, yes, but there’s just something off-putting about him, aside from the fact that his career pretty much flatlined during and after TNG.

I remember seeing him on Home Shopping Network back in the 90s and he was on as they were hawking SF-related stuff. Then Trek-related junk started bidding, and that &^%$ really tore into Classic Trek, then had to eat his words when the host told him all the CT stuff was outselling TNG stuff by a two-to-one margin. Boy, was he steamed.

I never forgot that, and suspect it was pretty much symptomatic of that Era’s mentality. Times change, and moments invariably arrive when one not only has to eat one’s words, but by God, folks having been used to dishing it out–are gonna have to take it themselves for a very long, long time.

For all of you who’d like to hear some of his insights from his time on TNG, you can also check:

His blogs and general lack of insight and juvenille language makes my comments all the more significant. You would think this guy would curb his inability to properly express himself. This guy has no shame…Oh well!

Hey! He did my Evil Wesley dialog!

I wrote that just for him. Hoped he’d like it. Evidently he did.

Anyhow, I’m never going to be able to dislike the guy. For one, I think he’s pretty funny, and, two, the Trekkie establishment in the early ’90’s acted like (excuse my French) complete assco*ks to Wil Wheaton, who, at the time, was a frakking eleven-year-old! I remember when I was eleven. It sucked enough without me being booed on stage at conventions while having the writers throw me sucky dialog (yes, my life has writers. Eat your heart out, Truman Show!). If he’s obnoxious, we, the Trekkies, who so often like to take credit as an establishment for the good parts of the show, have to take some responsibility for that. He did his best out there, and we harassed and harangued him, drove him to tears whenever we could, on a lark, as a freaking *joke*, rather than holding the writers accountable. I wasn’t personally involved in this (I never heard of this mysterious “Wesley hating” until after the show’s run ended… yeah, so I was sheltered), but, as a Trekkie, I can’t criticize the guy for reacting in the way he did. Frankly, I’m surprised he ever reached a love-hate relationship with the franchise, much less the obvious joy he takes in the show nowadays (tongue permenantly and defensively in cheek, of course). He’s come a long way, and I think Wil Wheaton has a heckuva lot more insight than Wes Crusher ever did… and, indeed, than most of the other former actors.

Plus, as I said… I find him kinda funny. His reviews on Tv-Squad beat the heck out of Keckler’s TWOP postings, and his round of KvP dialog readings was intended to be–and succeeded at being–funny.

Heh. Who knew? I’m passionate about Trekkie attitudes towards Wil Wheaton. I suppose we all learn something new about ourselves every day, eh?

yo wheato – enough all ready yeah?

sorry to break this to ya but you and your character are still detested to this day – so stop acting like its all good now.

I was looking forward to this kvp thing but its just gotten stupid, 2 spocks , 2 datas, 2 mccoys,GARY SEVIN? Not my favorite episode ASSignment earth, hey think ill write a part and have the big eared goof from way to eden come back too. And maybe Harry Mudd way screwing round with the Guardian. And maybe its the evil mirror universe Guardian. And maybe Spocks Brain is controlling the Guardian………anyone see where im going with this?lol

I truly enjoy his Kirk impression. Better than most overdone “Jim Carrey” style imitations.

#22: Many complaints about the silly course of the contest have been made before this. If it’s any comfort, there have already been Harry Mudd and multiple Mirror Universe stories.

If I want my fix of “Kirk is alive and meets Picard” stories I’ll re-re-read the Shatner novels. Much better than this mish-mash is sounding.

#17 people were a**holes to him, no wonder he became bitter later on

His….
Kirk…..
Is…..
Spot…..
On…..

His Picard needs a bit of work, you’d think being around Patrick every other day for 7 years he’d be able to do a better Picard, yes ?

As for Wesley, it’s weird like he’s talking to himself or something ;)
