45-I’ll ask this again…does tom hardy resemble patrick stewart?

As a young man-YES!!! How dense do you have to be to see that he does?

Shinzon was great, the Schimatar was awesome, the script wasn't too bad-but it was released at the time of the secondLord Of The Rings movie-and that's what killed it. There were a couple of positive reviews of Nemesis, one of them in two local alternative papers in my hometown of Toronto, NOW and Exclaim!. Right now, all I can offer is the review from Exclaim:

http://www.exclaim.ca/motionreviews/generalreview.aspx?csid2=774&fid1=2051&csid1=48

That should more than prove that not everybody hated Nemesis, and it wasn't that bad.

i seriously think this new movie that JJ is about to show is going to suck! only if rick berman helps him out to provide the true elements in the movie. if this movie is going to be about the past there must be some kinda of time travel going on. the TNG must continue the story line because star trek is about the FUTURE~! NOT the PAST****. a good story line that can tie up everything and lead to the next next generation of star trek TV show can be a story line about how the ramulans found a way to destory the borgs and how the borgs are destorying the solar system( such as the destruction of the sun and etc.) now this is up for the enterprise (the TNG crew) and voyager to rescue the home solar system. the movie can present the new crew of enterprise with some old cast that trasfer to titan and some remaind in enterprise. Captain picard should still remain behind the enterprise but at the end of the movie he shall get promoted as an admiral. then later on the next movies that shall be produce in the future .. picard can brought up alive once again. this will bring back star trek alive with true science good concept questions like ( WHAT IF THE SUN DIES ). and plus this can give a rebirth of star trek and the new next generation with a great transition without forgeting voyager. couldnt think of a better story line then this.

Either that or the fact that besides Dax, it seems that no one really dies on Star Trek. They always find some way to bring the character back. Which is kind of well....kind of weak.

"See this character? You like them? Well, they're dead. Ooops, no they're not. They are alive."

At the end of the Wrath of Kahn Kirk or someone points out that as long as someone remembers a person, they'll always live on. That....or someone will bring them back in a movie, novel, or show.

And even Dax kind of lived on physically. Just in a new body.

I hate seeing my favorite characters get killed off and there have been times that I have been pleased when it turns out the character is alive and well after all; but a part of me also thinks it's kind of weak.

Spock--Killed but reborn alive and well.
Tasha Yar--Killed but brought back in another universe and has a half romulan kid.
Dax--killed but a new actress takes the role. So she lives on.
Tucker-Killed but a novel says not so. (I guess that's quite the same, but....)
Kirk-Killed but brought back by Shatner in a novel. (Ditto to the above)
Data--Killed but he was never alive and B4 suggests he may not be. Though the androids gaining weight.....huh? I can see mentally aging android, but physically?

I don't know how canon the novels are treated. I guess that depends on the writer of the next story. But Everyone can live on....except the badguys, it seems.

re/NEMESIS

I've posted it before, I'll post it again (warning: NSFW language (on screen that is; there's no sound):

As for Riker/Troi; there's a lot going on in their universe if you're a reader -- look for the TITAN books in the STAR TREK section.

Why not a new TNG-ish show featuring Riker helming the Titan? I picked up the first novel the other day but haven't read it yet.... would definitely be a cool show to watch.

I'm not sure I dig the movie portion of the franchise going backward... I'd have to agree with Sirtis in that Trek is about moving forward. Heck I'm still waiting for someone to explain how Data exists in the future (TNG final episode All Good Things...") but was apparently blown up in Nemesis. :(

So it's settled then. Nemesis sucked. Next issue:

Let's have the two Darth Ballz duke it out to the death in a cage match. Harry can ref. Or they can have a smack-off match of Trek knowledge for the right to the name.

And #73 Harry IV:

QUIT YELLING AT US!

#70, no offense, but kind glad they didn't bring back Denise Crosby back for the movies.

I think overall one of the biggest mistakes was that TNG went directly from TV to big screen.

I would have preferred they waited 5 years, until the finale of DS9, given us time to miss them, and given the writers time to figure out what would be the best way to get them on the screen.

I think they suffered mostly because with the exception of First Contact, they were still writing television episodes and that was the level of quality we received on Generations, Insurrection and Nemesis.
