To #59 …I dont believe that this movie even really falls into the TNG timeline…..It may cross somewhere but……This although not a prequel,will most likely have more to do with TOS than with continuing a TNG storyline.I see this as the timeline.

Hasnt the time travel thing already been done too many times?(Voyage Home,First Contact)as a storyline…..But Just a nibble would be cool in this movie….I so hope it is done tastefully.

Also,…as far as I have heard,Nimoy and older Spock are just a piece of Spocks past.(if it goes with Canons version) ….He doesnt reval that he is Spock…..It will most likely be a Tie in but how much can we really expect from a few minutes….I have heard that this movie is focused more on the friendships formed….than the vulcan/romulan…factor…..It will most likely play a part though,….I think it is so cool to get a second chance at these characters……Modernization was eminent,…..But With Roddenberrian ideals, Star Trek has never been Pridictable,…….Janeway in movie, Micheal Dorn in Undiscovered , David in Spock,…(whatever became of Saavik?) etc….POINT IS ……sensors are unresponsive…….run a level III diagnostic…Retirement never really worked for Kirk…..Whether it was death, the Nexus Or even Starfleet command……Anything but getting old and useless.

These are all great ideas but remember this is a very deep universe, there could always be a flux,a wormhole, and god forbid ….acceptance.I believe if Brannon/Berman have anything to do with the writing of this film,we will see (in the older Spock clip) a tie in to Nemesis(Remember the Romulan factor….but the Data/B4 factor as well)….We cant erase Generations……that would cheapen the Spock, Kirk ,McCoy relationship and make it awfully fanfarey….Remember the reason that the story continues is because sometimes…..there is a something there to “tickle” the imagination….not leave us void of wonder…….That would be illogical……And quite frankly all too human.I do like the Idea of a Riker Titan though….But what of a new series? Are these films going to be strictly “movie”?…….I believe what makes Star Trek so successful is the familiarity of the actors AND the Characters.

Let me ask this question to the Pro-BBKers/Anti-TNG crowd.

Would you accept the inclusion of at least two TNG cast member cameos if it meant the undoing of Kirk’s death in this film?

I ask this question because some of the most venomous TNG haters (Who just absolutely wish beyond anything that Gene had never created them, and in most cases refuse to acknowledge that he did create them) are those who are most loyal to Shatner/Kirk, and I wondered just how much would they accept to get Kirk back, even if it meant the inclusion of their “Enemy.”

Also, which TNG character do you think could feasibly fit into the Nimoy scenes?

I think the folks who are guessing there’s a Romulan connection are on the right track, considering Romulus was one of the 2 founders of Rome and Nero was as the last Roman Emperor in the long dynastic line started by. . . get this. . . Tiberius.

Hm. Any classicists out there who would like to stretch their brains on this one?

Also – - regarding #42 etc.. . . Sending Kirk and Spock on their new adventures wouldn’t necessarily alter the timeline. I, for one, never assumed that the original series comprised ALL of the Enterprise’s 5-year-mission. Far from it. There could be endless stories crammed into the universe as already established; isn’t that the basis of a lot of fan fiction?
