The more I read about this movie, the casting decisons, etc. the more disillusioned I become. It’s destined to become a spectacular crapfest. Spock’s mother is now a Vulcan, Kirk’s dad is younger than Kirk, McCoy is Kirk’s age (instead of being 11 years older), screwing with the Guardian of Forever. Now the Romulans are doing time travel to off Kirk and old Spock meets young Spock…

Just get the Star Wreck crew from Finland to do the damned thing – at least they know what canon is and respect the series. I’m sure they can give us a better quality movie at a fraction of the cost.

Well, after seeing Transformers and losing all faith in the script for this movie, this bit of casting makes me lose faith in the casting. I fear that this movie will appeal to new fans, but not to Trekkies. Of dourse, if the script has the same “intelligence” Transformers had, then it will not appeal to any one over the age of 9. Sigh. I was really hoping for something special.
