I was curious about what else was opening against Trek. Glad to hear A&D got pushed back, I’ve read it and think it could be a great film if done well (Monica Belucci for Vittoria!). With the strike, I guess all other contenders are up in the air? I also agree Christmas Day is just goofy for an opening, how the blazes can I go? Way too much family stuff to deal with. Will probably wait a few days, do a media blackout on reviews, then go.

Make notes, make notes, make notes. If the line is that good, write up the angles, and lighting and anything else involved with it, when the strike is over, present it properly to the writers and have it worked out so that it will fit in without the least amount of problems. I see that you’re prone to the odd typo gremlin too…or is your spelling bad? ;)

My feeling on this topic is that this ’spur of the moment’ line SHOULD have been included if all concerned felt it would make the Movie better…but I absolutely agree that however good the script is, if J.J.’s direction and his production design choices are not good, then he’ll turn a potential silk purse into a sow’s ear…

The overall ‘look’ of this thing is as important as the story in this particular instance. Let’s hope we like J.J.’s choices…

We don’t know that the script details are true, They may be just made-up or mistaken rumors. And one person seeing and not liking the ship changes doesn’t equal a bad thing.

I’ll wait till I know more before judging it.

Doc’s right. This movie doesn’t seem to be shaping up. The new enterprise design has been poo-pooed. The plot is yet another time travel story. Its about the Romulans getting even with Kirk… for what exactly? What did he ever really do to them?

This matched up with what a bad movie Transformers was and how ATROCIOUSLY bad the redesigns of the robots was. I still can barely tell each one apart because they’re all covered with same superfluous plating and spines. Totally ruins the clean look of the originals. I wonder what else has a nice clean look read to be ruined…
