#43 -- CmdrR asks "What the heck is an 'answer print'?"

Is Dennis Bailey here? Being closer to the business, he is probably more qualified than I am to define what an 'answer print' is. But here is what I know about this subject, based on my VERY TRIVIAL knowledge of films and filmmaking...

An Answer Print is first version of an (almost) completed movie that is printed onto film that has come back from the film processor, who has put the movie on film with color-correction and a syched soundtrack. This answer print is ready to be approved or commented on by the director.

Think of it as the the "almost final print" of a film that the director gets to see, to which he/she makes comments and edits and sends the movie back to the film processor. Once the comments are satisfactorily responded to and edits are made, the answer print is approved by the director and the final version of the film is put onto the release print or show print. This final print is what gets released to the theaters.

I've never heard Gene before. Pretty much what I expected.

And "To Tell The Truth" seems really boring.

39. Steve J. - November 24, 2007

    #31 and #37:

I’m hoping for “Green Acres: The Next Generation”…

Watch what you wish for Steve.

The director of Green Acres just bought the rights to the show from the creators widow. He want to recast the show and re-shoot the original stories again! No lie!

#41
Exactly - not to mention Uhura’s line (shortly after sighing deeply) that would have made a classic if it had been screened:

"Relaxing? I don’t know what to call it - - but relaxing’s not the word."

...nothing cures food poisoning like a hot bowl of grandma's "massa ballz soup".

and now, a nimoynian moment:
