You are arguing a moot point, there ARE writers unions, they are on strike and hopefully working toward an agreement.

Interesting point. However, the way I see it, we’re trying to force change upon others… while the Prime Directive was supposed to be in place to NOT interfere (or force change).

I guess in that regard, it seems inconsistant.

Uhm, the television series Curb Your Enthusiasm is basically unscripted and it’s one of the best shows on T.V. It has gone into a sixth season. It is an HBO show, but it proves the format can work on TV just fine. Wouldn’t work for all genres, but it is a proven way of doing it.

Some people do not believe they should just settle for conditions in which they either work a soul-deadening job that pays the bills or a meaningful job in which they do not get paid enough in proportion to what they contribute. Where is the logic in accepting these choices and yielding to such unsatisfactory choices? And not even trying to make things better? It is your right to limit yourself to these choices but some people have not given up on a better world for themselves or others. Not sure how a better, Star Trek world will ever got built if people didn’t even try to make life better.

#51: IRD. Lots of people in their right minds choose their occupations based what they love to do.

Then when they choose to do it, they should accept what comes with it- be it good or bad. If its bad conditions, bad pay, etc. then they should move on.

There’s many occupations that I would prefer to be in other than the one I am in, but they won’t pay the bills. So where is the logic in holding a sign in front of those places- where I won’t get any pay mind you- demanding they pay me more?
