Nimoy was definitely the one to model a Vulcan after. Mark Lenard wasn’t bad either. However, I did think that Tim Russ made a good Vulcan. The way his character reacted to the Neelix character was, well, typically Vulcan IMO. Actually, until they made Neelix less aggravating, I found myself having the same reaction as Tuvok. Guess we all have different taste and opinions.

Suffice ta say, 7 of 9 has become a Star Trek symbol… and while Dracula 2000 didn’t help Miss Ryan much… she’s still at it. Don’t see much of her female co-stars (least not in front o’ tha camera) like Torres, Mrs. Columbo, Kes, Chakotay and so on…

I wasn’t there, but Jeri Ryan was and didn’t seem to object…..well until they were in a Divorce fight.

I stand by my statement

One-note is a correct assessment of Many of the actors who have taken on Vulcan and other detatched non-human roles in Trek. Leonard Nimoy set the gold standard. Not only is he more than just emotionless (and bored) but he allows the audience to see past the facade into the very real feelings his character works so hard to hide. There are nuances there. Mark Lenard (sp?) did a great job as well.
Not so with most other performances. The actors look bored. Just bored. And bored is boring to watch. One of these performances was a key component in Enterprise’s failure.

Garovorkin, IMHO Jeri’s acting was one-note on VOY. She was basically a Spock clone dealing with both her emotional/non-emotional halves, which she did poorly but no one cared with her looking so yummy. Seven was the worst SciFi acting since Valerie Bertinelli in CHOMPS. Plus, this is a Jeri Ryan thread so how can you not expect it to be focusing on her looks?
