When I heard Nimoy's voiceover in the trailer for the new movie I got goosebumps. Wow! I'm over 60 and still have a crush on Spock.
Quinto will be good I think, but there will only ever be one Spock - Leonard Nimoy. I think there may well be a final death scene in the movie - I don't think I will be able to cope with that.
Thanks for the blog Leonard and peace be with you.

Last weekend my friend brought over a "Bonanza" DVD and we played "Guess The Actor". When I realized who it was, I squealed like a little girl. It was a very young Leonard Nimoy. The episode was entitled "The Ape" and Nimoy played a young con man who got money from his female partner's sleezy flirting with the wealthier men who came in. (She called one of them a big "ape".) Nimoy was so handsome. Couldn't have been very old. He looked like he was in his early 20's. Very distinguished looking. It was great!

@10 - Harry

Less is more.

(Well, you know, under some circumstances anyway...)

I think it's really nice to see Leonard Nimoy so obviously comfortable with being Spock these days. He can protest as much as he likes now, but in the 70s he really wasn't happy with the typecasting and he obviously wanted to do a lot more. Now that he has gone on to direct, photograph and perform non Spocky roles, I think he can now go back and wear Spock like a favourite suit now and have none of that old baggage.

And yeah, it does seem like a much bigger part than perhaps we initially thought.

Peace and Long Life, sure enough....

Hi as I run Leonard's fan club I got to hear about the comments of 48
I am sitting here wearing my 'ears' , the picture of spock above my desk, the vulcan robes a little worn after all that sitting watching endless re-runs of the episodes before off to bed in the basement of my parents house.....well no actually I am busy sorting out charity donations, getting the newsletters ready to mail all over the world to our members and replying to the many emails we get from the media and fans interested in the man 48 seems to be so obsessed with...May I recommend he saves all that energy and go do some charity work, he'd feel so much better about himself, and maybe then he'd understand what trekkers really do.
Oh and by the way check out the Nimoy Foundation
