#48 Hey Commodore i have some additional suggestions on movies if your interested. If your an Xfiles fan I might suggest the Quatermas tv serials and Movies written by Nigel Kneal who was the Chris Carter of his day and quatermass is a wonderful precursor to the Xfiles. The tve serials done in the 50s were made into movies in the 60’s. The Tv version of Quatermass and the pit is in six parts was done on film and not tape and is better then the movie and avaible on dvd. check it out. Last of Quatermass serial was called the Quatermass Conclusion done in 1979. two films that may have been the inspiration for Terminator was 1961 b movie Planets against us, actor Michael Lemone plays 5 cyborgs sent to inflitrate ang bring down earth to make way fo an invasion. this film is what it is keep that in mind. The next film isthe 1967 film Cyborg staring Michael Rene (Day the Earth Stood Still) he play a Cyborg from the future whose come back alsa Terminator to prevent a dismal future for humanity

#51 have you read the novel with which I am Legend was based upon? The book played fast and loose with the novel but the ending at last was in the spirit of the book. The alternate ending is nice but it does not work, That ending would have ruined the move.

that “I am Legend” alternative ending is waaaaaaaaaaay better, in my opinion, than the overtly pious “white christian chapel” ending in the theatres…. wow… what a difference 5 minutes makes.

Omega Man can’t be beat for “ham”
but this ending plays so much better and means more than the “jesus saves” the suits demanded.

I just viewed the alternative ending (the one originally filmed) …what the &*#@^^%! It was a far superior ending. It made much more sense in the context of what had transpired before. I’ll have to wait to hear the voiceover commentary to here why the director chose the other ending. Was it studio pressure, or what? The alternative ending would have elevated the movie to near classic status. When I get my copy of the DVD I’ll only play that version for myself or friends.

Jolene Blalock is H-O-T. But please, folks, if you haven’t read Starship Troopers, do yourself a favor. The movie was too much like Robocop. And that was a very bad movie. While you’re at it, read I am Legend. Books are where it all begins.

I am more and more looking forward to Iron Man. The Watchmen, not so much (unless there are many gratuitous scenes of Silk Spectre). And I absolutely can’t wait for Indy 4 and X-Files.

# 48 its called Roughnecks Starship Troopers The complete Campaigns about 40 episodes. Verhoeven is listed as exe producer , im not sure how much he had to to do with the actual series. I bought it at Best buy, I think amazon might have it as well. Its a really terrific series, i wish more people knew about this one.
