I am a HUGE fan of Simon’s and I whole heartedly believe that he will NOT take the role of Scotty lightly. He is VERY professional and he will not make a mockery of it.

before you look at the link, i want to point out that i think simon pegg is a brilliant choice to play scotty

what follows is a segment of an episode of spaced, a sitcom he co-wrote and starred in from a few years ago
you should watch from the start to about two and a half minutes in and you’ll see what i mean

#76—I’m on board with you (go figure), for the most part. However, my only real amendment to that is, after a 4th and 5th year of the original 5 year mission (perhaps a Sci-fi channel mini-series), a series set in between TMP and TWOK (featuring the Enterprise NCC-1701-A prior to her posting as a training vessel) would top my list, perhaps followed by a series set immediately post TUC (Excelsior under Sulu, or Enterprise-B under a better written Harriman with Demora Sulu at the helm). After TUC, there is 78 years of unexplored Starfleet history. Surely there is something television worthy.

Of course, all of this would depend on what the “alternate timeline” does to existing TOS and beyond, and certainly upon the success of STXI, XII, and XIII at the box-office.

I understand completely your impatience, but I’m ‘fraid I’m of the other opinion. 3 years is fine. It gives the actors a chance to go on to other projects, thus possibly avoiding some typecasting pitfalls which befell The Original 3. It also gives The Supreme Court a chance to really nail down and tighten up the story and get the guest casting just right. If this movie goes well, the whole Trek creative team are going to be sizzlin’!

All that said, I’m really hoping for a new TOS TV series, but only if the current creative team are in on it and provided I like the new movie.

IMHO, as always.

Actually guys, my fiance’s relatives in the UK and Ireland told us that “Run Fat Boy Run” has been out in Europe for months. I actually saw the movie at a film festival here in Miami. It won’t be in theatres in the US until March 28. I guess certain movies are released in the UK first. The blockbuster action-type movies are usually released in the US first. Our relatives got to see the movie “Atonement” in September and it wasn’t released until December 7 in the US. We couldn’t see it until December 14 in Miami.

BTW my fiance was born in Northren Ireland.
