# 82 and #83 which was why I had issues with the Bryan singer film it was to much of a retread of that far Superior Donner film for my taste. Setting the next film in the 30’s or 40’s is a nice idea, this retro approach might jump start the franchise. I doubt either Singer or the studios would consider this notion and in any case they don’t listen much to fans anyways.

#85 after the Omen debacle and a few other remake misfires, i hope that a remake of Rosemary’s Baby doesn’t happen, How can you really improve on this classic? If they do a remake it odds are they hand it to some hack and it will end up a total botch job. The filmmaker for lack of a better term, will end up by piling on special effects at the expense of the story itself. Remember what they did to remake of The Haunting? They took an intelligently done classic and turned it into a mindless special effects spectacle. Please don’t get me wrong I like good special effects, but only if it serves the overall story. It seems Hollywood has lost the desire and it seems, the capacity to do either original productions or movies with intelligent scripts and stories.

42. I want to see a Rosemary’s Baby remake, so you can speak for yourself on that one.

With today’s tech, I’d love to see a CGI mouse take a bite out of Rosemary’s foot as she approaches the altar. That would have the mouse bite reference make more sense, since we never did see what this ‘mouse’ was.

I agree.
But the Donner version (Superman-the movie) is a masterpiece.
It actually started the whole “serious” superhero movie genre.
I think that’s a great idea!
Have Superman in, well I think the 1940’s would be better.
Like those old Max Fleisher cartoons. Full of wonder and excitement AND NO PEEPING TOM SCENES!

Superman Returns was one of the only movies I ever considered walking out of due to COMPLETE boredom.
The Donner cut of SII was far more satisfying on so many levels.
Any new Superman should have been done as a period piece set in the 30’s ala King Kong where it would have made sense.
Singer’s masturbatory, self-indulgent version doesn’t deserve a sequel.

I liked Ang Lee’s HULK as well … with qualifiers attached. I thought it was a pretty good flick for what it was, but I think it was concieved in confusion and then marketed dishonestly as a superhero flick … so any filmgoer who went expecting that was right to feel disappointed or even gypped.

It looks like the new HULK movie is being billed as a videogame where you’re never allowed to hold the controller. Perhaps that’s more honest, this time.

Robocop’s time has come and gone. The first movie was actually quite good, eveything that came after including movies 2 , 3 the tv series and mini series was forgettable crap.

Where did it say -remake- of Robocop? All I saw up there was that there are plans involving Robocop, but nothing concrete.

To me, that says “new entry in the Robocop series.” Like, say, Robocop 4 (or 5, if we count the direct-to-video movie based on the TV series as 4).
