#80—That’s a pretty blanket statement. IMO, there are many factors which would determine whether his presence in the film would be positive or negative, not the least of which is—-is it beneficial to the story?

Secondly, is the explanation as to why he is there, despite being dead, satisfactory?

Third, is a “Shatner’s Kirk resurrection” crucial to the conflict resolution in the script, or is it being shoehorned in strictly for the benefit of fans who are still disillusioned by the poorly written and performed death sequence in Generations?

And finally (and here, unfortunately, is where some of my friends disappear), will it be William Shatner as James T. Kirk (TOS–STIV), or will it be James T. Kirk as William Shatner (STVI–GEN)?

No, I did not make a mistake in leaving out STV. I intentionally discount The Great Trek Turd altogether….

81. Bad hammy acting when everyone else will be playing their parts as naturalistic, it will stick out, which should give Shatner pleasure since thats the whole point with him.
