This is a follow-up to my comments yesterday. I don’t know very much about Scotttish accents but I assume there are regional variations as there are in the US. My fiance is originally from Northren Ireland and I know his accent is somewhat different than someone from the Irish Republic. I grew up in the American Midwest and have the typical “flat” Midwestern accent. In Florida where I live now, my accent is considered odd by native Floridians. I get asked where I am from all the time.

I saw an interview recently with actor James McAvoy. He is originally from Glasgow and has a rather thick Scottish accent. I have the movie “Trainspotting” on DVD, and the accents are rather hard to understand.

I know Simon Pegg will do an excellent job. I am really interested in seeing what kind of accent he will use. Does anyone know where Scotty is actually from?
