I just really hope they stay pretty true, though I wont mind some 2008 updates on iconic trek either.

Either way, with Pegg on board you know they’ll at least be safe from space zombies :D

I don’t remember the inventor of the Transporter ever being mentioned, let alone introduced in TOS, but maybe I’m forgetting an episode or reference.

I do remember a reference in TNG to the fact that the Transporter was invented nearly 100 years before Scotty’s time though, and given that Orci & Co are fans of TNG I’d be surprised if they missed that and subsequently altered the storyline that much.

Then again, I doubt it will bother me one way or the other, unless it’s done in the previously referenced ‘Forrest Gump’ way (or the Shatner novel way), where by some miracle all our heroes are somehow responsible or present for every major event.

well he did use some techno stuff. just was not as fancy as in the tng series.but it will be good to see what if any he uses and see him be the miricle worker that he truly is. now where is that scotch.
