Okay, Paramount. What about iTunes. We’ve got season one of just about every Star Trek on iTunes except the Next Generation. However now that season 2 is out, where is the iTunes season 2’s? Blue-Ray/HD-DVD has nothing to do with the iTunes versions. I’ve got what I’ve wanted out of DS9 Season 1 and Remastered Season 1. I’ve even emailed Paramount and CBS with no answers.

What is the hold up people? If you can’t get blu-ray or DVD out because of issues, the iTunes and Xbox 360 versions have no menu’s or anything. Lets get this done.

it’s a contractual issue with toshiba, they paid for the remastering, simple as that i’m afraid.

It worked for about a week in the UK (non remastered only) but is now unavailable. It’s ridiculous: why can the US watch it but not us British or German or any other country for that matter.

Why they cannot release it on itunes where you could buy the episodes is beyond me too! CBS/Paramount:- there is a market out here!!!!!

Adobe Media player does not seem to allow me to play star trek remastered editioin in the UK. (At least on both my comptuers and on my friend’s computer it doesnt work anyway!) It just says: “This content is currently unavailable”

Does anyone know when, where or how I can get my hands on/watch the remastered version in the UK? I’m getting really desperate! Please help!

Only the fools the own blu-ray players, which is a minute percentage when you look at the whole picture. Standard definition is in almost every household and can be played on personal DVD devices as well as computers and laptops. Releasing Trek on the dominant format is hardly a stupid idea. Far from it actually.

But a subsequent blu-ray release would be nice for the high def entusiasts, who, like it or not, are the minority and will be for quite some time.

In the meantime, everyone else can enjoy the remastered season 2 now and that’s a good thing.

Sorry, I’ll be very content to own then remastered new versions on standard DVD. Unless you can find me a blue-ray player for under $100.

Paramount was the last studio to go to DVD. They are the last to Blu-Ray, and it’s a given that when the definitive downloadable HD format is introduced, they’ll be on the sidelines, or aligned with a minority format.

One poster here made it clear: Three seasons of STR, three different formats.

People get fired for stuff like that.

This signals that the higher resolution laser disc isn’t yet ready for us normal folk. I am glad the standard DVD is out. I don’t yet have a high res laser disc player (Blue-Ray or HD-DVD) and for now am holding out even though there is a format “winner”. I am pleased this is coming on on DVD, even though I am not at this point interested in replacing the original season two boxed set. The CGI is just… forget it. You all know what I mean. I wish not to bash further.
