Right, but I was referring more to the reaction of the men (particularly Sulu) to her presence. She seemed to be distracting to many of the men, but that didn’t appear to prohibit her being in Starfleet. I also seem to remember a line about humans being ’sexually immature’ and she wouldn’t take advantage of such a species.

#68–I think the Deltan issue is a bit different. If I remember the novelization of TMP correctly, it was not a pheromone issue, as with the Orions. Rather it had something to do with interspecies sexual contact involving a Deltan being “dangerous”. I know I got that from somewhere. Anyway, the only “canon” information about it is that Lt. Ilia had to take an oath of celibacy for one reason or another. Everything else is fan speculation and “non-canon” detail.
