hmmm now that I think about it.. better leave the sound in.. i get very annoyed when I can hear people talking in the theater.. ugh and cell phones… all you trekkies/trekkers better promise to turn off your cell phones yo!!!

seriously.. one thing you can take from cloverfield is the need to adhere to the new nano-second attention span.. ZIP-ZOOM-ZING!! Yeah don’t worry folks there will be sound.. don’t want to bore the mainstream audiences….

Agreed. There’s not a full blown orchestra floating about in space or nestled behind the bridge either, but we hear it. It’s all part of the movie experience. I know JJ wants this to seem “real”..and that’s cool, but frankly I get a full dose of reality every day by being alive and reading the papers and watching CNN. Personally, I prefer not to take too much of that with me into the movie theater…I rather enjoy them leaving in a little of the magic.

I agree with you. We can assume that space faring is an achievement obtained only by unified cultures. It’s sort of a Trek teaching.
