AFAIK, the plan to split Galactica season four in two was because of the imminent writers' strike, meaning the current season could end on a big cliffhanger (the 12th Cylon revealed perhaps?) if the strike prevented filming continuing.

Is it just me or did I pick up a hint, listening to the hybrid, that there could be a heretofore unmentioned 13th Cylon model? Also, perhaps the final five are the Lords of Kobol?

It is interesting how your sympathies swing with characters in this show. For me, I never thought Baltar would have a road to Damascus moment. He is an imperfect, flawed man, but his message is a good one. Who else was reminded of Jesus banishing the traders from the temple when he interrupted the service for the Olympian gods the other week?

All along it appears he has been the instrument of a higher plan, his flaws and talents being used in equal measure.

I'm intrigued to see what Sam Anders does next when the go to seek out the D'Anna model. I was just waiting to see him to immerse his hand in the the baseship's control panel last night!

CmdrR (21): 'God, I hate prequels'

Bet you're loving all the Star Trek news then!

'How far can Caprica go without stomping all over the toes of BSG. Daoud, if Joseph Adama made a cylon child, why would it be a shock to William Adama that “the cylons look like us now.'

You see, I don't think it was a shock to Bill: he figured Leoben for a Cylon pretty quickly in the miniseries and as a young man in Razor he saw the aftermath of Cylon experimentation and experienced some of it when he immersed his own hand in the liquid surrounding the hybrid. The more intriguing thing was the man and little girl he failed to rescue from the ship. To me, the man bore a resemblance to Leoben and the little girl a resemblance to Kara.

I thought the performances were marvellous across the board last night. Mary McDonnell was very moving and Nana Visitor a real standout. Excellent direction and music again. It was nice to see the Admiral after a couple of weeks without him and to get some more time with Anders.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, in terms of complexity and philosphical discussion, mixed with action and romance, the new BSG is the true 21st century successor to the original Star Trek!

Even though fewer people might see the new Galactica than the old, I think the show has genuinely raised the bar and anything new will have to use it as a reference point (sorry Firefly/Serenity fans, the show was fun and raised the bar at the time but it's been thoroughly overshadowed now and shown to be a false dawn!)

Many of the new episodes have been excellent, but this, by far, was the most reaching. Finally, new ways of looking at the characters are in place, and the flips we have seen are beginning to make sense.

The final 5 are from earth.

They may be immortal.

They will not need a resurrection ship.

Probably just a weird internet fluke then. I've had a few comments disappear before and I know it wasn't because Anthony randomly deleted them. He always explains his reasons if he feels that is necessary.

Garovorkin:

We've missed you over on Chat.

I just had some fun with the Red Sox in my latest story there...just a fictional massive trouncing by the Yankees...

Anyway, I know I'm not supposed to hang out in the Gilligan's Island thread here, but you're missed in the "other" non-Trek thread as well ;-)

#62. sean No, actually I had agreed with #2. Anthony Pascale and was being very optomistic that Starbuck would eventually get her act back together. Hmmm...*shrugs*

Were you ripping on either Trek or BSG? Because that's a surefire way to 'lose' your post.

That was a fantastic episode. I can't agree with all the people that say season 4 is weak. It has had some pedestrian episodes (at least as far as Galactica is concerned), but this episode was as good as anything they have done. Anders wants so badly to explore his Cylon side. I can't wait to see Adama's expression when the Demetrius jumps back with a Basestar in tow.

Mongo wants to let Cayce and Hubertis know that Boone is coming over for Mother's Day for beans and cocktails. You're all invited, of course. Should be smashing.

#58 I really hate how they break the seasons up.

I really hate how they pass of two season as one. 6 month break? Yeah, sure, that is still the SAME season. Right.

The ONLY reason SciFi is doing this is because they have nothing else to show. So they want to keep some episodes in store to lead into whatever they come up with by then.

If only they hadn't cancelled all those other shows...
