All these questions with no answers.

Well I have only one thing to say about this film. It would have been better if it had starred Hulk Hogan as Captain Kirk and Ringo Starr as Spock.

I saw Star Trek in a movie theatre when it first came out and I loved it! I loved the story line, I loved the cast, I loved the charactors. I’ve always felt that Star Trek needed new blood, and that this movie provided that new blood. I’m hoping that JJ Abrams does a Star Trek sequal, maybe even a tv series. I’m just not sure whether there should be an elder Kirk in the new movie. We need something new to add to the Star Trek mix. I thought the movie was supposed to be a re-make of the original series. If it was, I felt it was very well made re-make. I hope it continues with the sequal.

Star Trek 2009 was mindblowingly good. Surprisingly good. I mean, it got 90+% on Rotten Tomatoes, and that’s saying something!

The film is out – great work from the CGIs and effects guyes, and a good bit of casting. The sequel to the prequel – how about Uhura on maternity leave, Kirk actually settling down with one woman, a fair amount of Pon Farr, the problems of where to go and who with, Drs Flox and McCoy would have their hands full there I think. How to build up numbers of an endangered species, aliens with selective reproductive abilities spring to mind – Spock could produce 2 kiddies one pure Vulcan one pure Human – the franchise goes on. Can they battle the killer flying pancakes again [Anihalation Project] please. You could have hours of fun with Chekov – after all at 17 he’s got a lot to learn about life.

I have seen Star Trek XI (or 9) ten times now. It is a thorough adrenaline rush. I can’t wait for the sequel. Two comments: Please make sure Kirk’s hair is blonde (the scenes where it appears red were very distracting). And do not have any famous guest stars. They will detract from the new crew who rightly should be the focus. They are young, gorgeous, and energetic. All they need is an equally exciting script as the 2009 movie. And although I adore Shatner’s portrayal of Kirk, he is such a scene stealer that it would be a disservice to the story, and Chris Pine who is a perfectly wonderful Kirk in his own right, if he were in it. Shatner created Kirk but its time to move on. Its a different century and a different time line. It’s not ageism, I am 65 years young.
