Listen up everyone. My wife and I live in Las Vegas and go to STTE all the time and have gotten to be friends with seveal of the employees there. They had a meeting there yesterday and were told by owners and management that Labor Day, Sept. 1 will be the last day for STTE. Colony Resorts who owns the Las Vegas Hilton wants several times the current rent to renew the lease for the space and broke off negotiations. In other words they forced STTE to call it quits. I’m sorry to have to be the one to bring the bad news. Beleve me, we’re all very upset about it. This years convention will be the last hurrah for STTE. So, if you want to see it, you better make plans quick.
We’ll miss it terribly.

The ST Experience has been high on my list of places to see for a long time now. I’m praying that they will keep it alive, maybe move it to another location? One way or another, I really hope I’ll be able to see it someday. *crosses fingers*

I go to Vegas often as my Mom lives in Nevada. It’s funny but she loves eating at Quark’s. We have to go every time I’m there which of course works for me! I will miss the Experience if they close it down.

I sent an e mail to the las vegas hilton mentioning how many times I have stayed and eaten and gambled and seen shows there and I said that every time I was there was only because of the Star Trek Attraction and that if they closed it I would have no reason to continue to go there anymore. The interesting thing is that their web site the contact page has the only picutre of Star Trek the Experience on their entire site. Its a picture of the green borg monorail train in all its glory.

The morning news here in San Diego did their weather broadcast from the Star Trek Exhibit. From what they showed this looks to be a really fun experience! I’m going to wait a week or so for the crowds to thin out. Then I’m SO going!!

I got an email from Chad Boutte when I emailed earlier in the month. I was impressed with that because big corporations generally don’t give a hoot about personal touch. I really hope the Experience remains open. I was hoping to visit next year for my 40th but if it’s closing this year I’ll have to do some organising to get there before hand. Hopefully it’ll stay open. If it does I’ll wear my kilt – okay

#47, I agree with you. My friend and I actually got a personal phone call from Mr. Boutte thanking us for continuing to be loyal fans and encouraged us to visit the attraction again. It just felt nice to actually get a call from someone in a position that he is in. Hope to see everyone at the experience real soon.
