7> "Did Starship Exeter fall into a black hole???"

;-) Hopefully not -- although [possible spoiler]
a black hole did appear in an old preliminary TTI
story draft that's still online. (I'll say no more.)

I was one of the volunteers who assisted on the STP2 Enemy Starfleet, which supposedly will be released in March. I cannot say anything bad about Cawley, he is in fact a pretty nice guy, as are a few of the other actors, particularly Charles Root (Scotty), and guest star Barbara Luna, except that Cawley's "inside" staff is composed largely of sycophants and incompetents, people who have no business even remotely filling the positions they're in. I would love to go into great detail about the experience that many of us commiserated over and shared in Port Henry, and I will do so one day soon.

My mom passed away on the final day I was scheduled to work, a shattering and unexpected event. I considered fulfilling my obligations to the shoot, but feeling obligated is a two-way street. I said good-bye to my immediate colleagues and walked away---I did not care to share the news with anyone there. I made my travel arrangement to attend the services, and flew out next day.

I would advise anyone considering volunteering for future episodes with this group to be aware of one thing, the only excuse a volunteer has for being there is to have their pockets picked. There is an "us" and "them", mentality, the "them" being of course the "volunteers", and to overhear several times, the position of PA referred to by the insiders as "peon at large" is rather distressing. Especially to those like myself, in my own case, an art director with 20+ years experience in the field, working for people in key positions whose only reason for being there is because they're personal friends of Cawley.

Mind you, many of us flew in from all over the country, and at considerable additional expense found lodging. We arrived excited and eager to participate, only to discover that our efforts, time and abilities were completely wasted.

Stephan, thanks for working on subtitles for Der Zeitspiegel! That was a lot better than I'd anticipated and I'd like to know a bit more WTF was going on between the characters...

I just love all of the creativity that the fans are putting into their respective creations. There's obviously a lot of love for the various incarnations of ST out there. Keep 'em coming, everybody!

Ok, Donald Polansky™, very well then. WHEN the time comes that trekmovies dot com backsplash dot net has the official "FanMade® at Trekmovies dot com written, edited, produced AND directed by hitch1969©", WHEN that time comes (and I have a strong feeling that because of my enthusiasm it will definitely be more of a WHEN than an IF) I hereby promise to look into this very aggregious allegation which you have made and that the results of my investigation will be fair and accurate to the Hidden Frontiers.

First let me tell you however that at this point it remains an allegation, one undersupported by factual evidences here before us. I can tell you from the outside looking in (at this point anyway) that among the staff (uh huh uh huh I said...) here, there is no great conspiracy regarding coverage or lack thereof for Hidden Frontiers.

It could be something as simple as them not having the proper contact information, or perhaps it could be some sort of reclusion on their part regarding the release of informations (ie - see Sir JJ™ and the cloak of secrecy)

We at the trek movies dot com have no prejudices or preferences with anything FanMade™. We love and appreciate them all equally. I'm not on the team quite yet, but I do feel comfortable in saying that on behalf of the team that I am soon to join (cross fingers!)

Thanks for your input on this topic. Further feedback can be addressed here:

You know... not much of a Phase II fan... not at all actually. Shotty acting JC does to try and be Kirk is just so overkill. Hell, he even over-acts Shatner! I mean, it's a great concept and all, but come-on.. couldn't you be a little more original than using the old characters? Still, their dedication to a voluntary project just for the fun of it overshadows any of the critisism I can dish out. Kudos to you all in NV/P2.

I am rather shocked however to see how little attention Hidden Frontier has been given both in this article and in the comments. These guys work their arses off every week it seems to bring great fan productions to us all. I mean... just think about it... They have three original TNG era series, a feature length movie coming out soon, a 4 part mini-series spin-off from the movie focusing on the Federation President, and now their own ORGINAL sci-fi production. These guys deserve a lot more credit than they are given!

The wish the Exeter folks would get on the ball. I thought Intersection was a better film than the latest Exeter offering.

There is a wonderfully amusing picture of an outtake from "Naked Time" over at startrekhistory.com. It shows Bruce Hyde being "throttled" by a stagehand who has heard "Kathleen" one time too many.

Ahhhh, FanMade™. ALWAYS love the updates on the FanMade™. Love it so much that I want to marry it, as they say. You know, when they say, "Well, hitch1969©, if you love it so much, then why don't you marry it???"

That's why I am here, hat in hand®, on bended knee™, seeking AP's blessing so that I may take FanMade™'s hand in holy matrimony. Til death do us part and so forth. "I, hitch1969©, take thee, FanMade™, to be my lawful wedded ..." an all dat rot.

Phase Dos™, what CAN I say? Me not so sure what JC™'s strategem is these days... but me still 100% behind him. Mine is not to question, it is simply to appreciate.

Good to see the Pennsylvania Dutch© back in action with the Farragut. I burned a copy of "For Want Of A Nail" for my mother. She's also Pennsylvania Dutch™, from those parts before migrating to Colorado anyway. That's how I recognized your accents, dude. Anyway, she loved the episode. I think it reminded her of the homeland.

Speaking of accents, where in the world is Nick "C is for Cookie"? That's good enough for me. His FanMade™ taught me alot about my own prejudices an the races n whatnot. Helped me get past my own racialism. TOLD me that we is a universal people no matter how bad the accents or miking as the case may be. Maybe hitch1969 hears what him wants to EAR, maybe me own racials cloud me EARing. And so forth and so on. Perhaps he's in a pub in Dublin. I always thought that would make a grate song by U2. "A pub in Dublin". Recorded in Dubly™, of course. Magically delicious!

Enterprise in German? I'm sorry dude, but NO HABLA. That's one accent that I don't think I can work around. I can say "Volkswoggen" and "Heineken" and that's about all the German stuff that I know. Lettuce please get this translated into God's language, the language that The Bible™ was written in, ENGLISH. Not the Queen's English, but good old fashioned American HAMBURGERS N HOT DOGS N APPLE PIE english, por favor? As spoken by hitch1969©.

Overall, the state of FanMade™ is a grate state. This makes me so very very happy.

BEST!!

Fanmade TOS stuff, it's ALL good! I guess the SciFi channel still hasn't figured this out yet. Alot of potential SciFi audience that would otherwise watch their network want original Star Trek.

I can't remember the last time I watched SciFi channel. I think it was back in 1999. Alot of mindless drizzle on there since.

BTW, great and intriguing trailer for "Frontier Guard." It's way past time that the folks who've gained so much experience doing fan films branched out into original productions.
