I saw both the Enterprise & the Bird of Prey at the L V Con.08 and want both of them and plan to get them when they come out . I even had put my e-mail out to them , to inform me when they go on sale. I’ll get them the same day.

Does anyone remember the toy Enterprise that was similar to a helicoper toy called a Vertibird? The E had a propeller under the saucer section that so that it could fly/hover/orbit in a circle over a table cloth planet and pick up stuff. I thought the Vertibird helicopter toy was cool but even at the age of 10, I thought the circling Enterprise toy looked dumb and was messed up concept-wise. However, several kids at my school who weren’t Trek fans had them. I guess whatever gets people interested in Trek, even if it stuff that is not to scale or accurately depicted.

Not a bad move on Mattel’s part, it’s about time we see a resurgence in Trek merchandising. After the tsunami of Star Wars-related products, having some Trek stuff would be a welcome relief. I believe Star Trek gets slammed left and right by Star Wars fanboys, partially because Trek is hardly visible in the merchandise department.

I need help… or some carrie-seen…

Hmmmm…. maybe I buy one… had some experience wit’ gas-engine model airplanes… and them can blow up good…

#41 – I’d buy a Nerf Enterprise…

These, though, I’ll have to take a pass on. Not because of the alterations to the design, which are necessary to make something halfway aerodynamic, but they just look… shoddy. I’ve had too many experiences with R/C toys that looked cool in the packaging but then flew about as well as a brick. As have many others here, from what I have read.
