Moore is mildly insane. But he has every right to dislike the way he and his work has been treated by Hollywood. LOEG was god-awful, a sad, sad last film for Sean Connery to go out on, and certainly not worth being dragged through court only to have Fox wimp out. Constantine was nearly as bad. While I liked From Hell and V for Vendetta, I can understand his frustration with the adaptations. All he's asked is that they leave him out of them and give the money to his collaborators. I don't think that's such a crazy or egotistical thing to request.

With Watchmen, he's on record that if they leave his name off it he won't say a negative word.

Where is tha' X-Files?

A victim o' bad marketing.

Actually a good film, and subtle in tha' sense that it has no boom-boom special effects nor not a lotta action at all. But rather a decent crime drama and oh me God! tha' two characters have actually moved on wit' thar lives! Not forever stuck at tha' FBI tryin' ta' help ya' wit' tha' yeti in yer toilet.

Sure, SOME egos in this world DO need to be deflated for their own good....but why do you feel the need to specifically isolate BRITISH egos as needing to be deflated for their own good? You got an agenda bud? I'm sure whatever country you yourself happen to be from, has it's fair say of folks with egos too big for their own good too....

If you think Alan Moore's ego is too big, fine, but you don't need to 'nationalize' it. There are enough big egos from all over the planet to go around.

...You know, it seems like every single day I come across some whining complaint by Alan Moore about Watchmen or something else he's written being brought to the screen and/or against DC and/or Marvel for them supposedly having cornholed him in the past. And every single day I get more and more convinced that he needs to be knocked off his high horse with a 2x4 before his arse metastasizes to that ten-foot pole mounted in the center of the saddle.

Bottom Line: Some British egos *need* to be deflated for their own good.

Spiderman 4? No. Make it stop.
Lucas? Please... just go AWAY!

Saw TDK last night. It really is on a whole different level than any comic book movie, IMO.
Ledger really deserves that Oscar.
Watchman trailer- wow.

It's not GL's tinkering I dIdn't care for....it's the 'creative choices' he ended up choosing for his saga, that I personally found so objectionable, where his saga eventually developed I'm afraid.

My favourite quote above is where Jeffrey Katzenberg offers about GL - "He isn't going to put a product out, I think, that isn't anything other than first rate." The 'Prequels' aside, you obviously haven't seen the badly judged meddling and 'color-tampering' of his Original Trilogy 'Special Edition' releases Jeff....never mind the poor treatment of the OT 'originals' themselves on DVD Thank goodness for Adywan's 'Star Wars:Revisited' project, the first part of which can be read about here - www.fanedit.org and at www.originaltrilogy.com where he shows how it should REALLY have been done....

Having said that, I believe that a 3D presentation of Star Wars:A New Hope' (whether altered for the worse or not) might just be the best Movie-going experience of my life, when it comes around....as from what I've read about it recently, this new '3D conversion from 2D' process is something truly impressive. Not so sure about this 'Clone Wars' animation thing though....

This was a great article by the way, with lots of interesting genre stuff to look forward to. Watchmen is looking good, as is a 'period'-set Wolfman with the actors concerned. I'd like to think the Terminator:Salvation would be a hard-edged R-rating, but it will no doubt end up a PG-13 lightweight. However if The Avengers ends up with the actual 'proper' actors from their respective franchises, then that could be worth catching too.

It's just a pity that the upcoming Star Trek Movie itself didn't get much of a look-in to get the journos and other attendees fired up....
