#134—-I won’t call you ignorant, but just because you did not see him on screen in the first season, doesn’t mean he wasn’t on board. There are 430 people aboard the NCC-1701. It is perfectly plausible that Checkov was simply working the “graveyard shift” during the first season (or not on the bridge at all), and did not become the ship’s primary navigator until later on in the 5 year mission.

He is obviously aboard during the events of the first season, because Khan recognizes him and even knows him by name (that genetically engineered memory is quite handy, except apparently when calculating the amount of time since he left Earth–lol) when they meet on Ceti Alpha V in TWOK, and that is a part of Star Trek canon.

I like the idea of getting in as many people and aliens from Classic Star Trek even if it doesn’t follow the time line from the tv show. Just a little off can’t hurt, it could make the movie better I hope.

Call me an ignorant, but Chekov should not even be a member of the crew when Kirk & Co. meet the first time aboard the Enterprise. He’ll join the crew a while later. Right?

They may be TOS-like but to me it’s like having Bale wear Adam West’s duds in “The Dark Knight”. 60’s TV production values don’t apply anymore.

- One thing i never understood in ‘ENTERPRISE’..is the missing of the original costumes to races like REMANS for example…this was really a bad move…i’m wondering if in this movie i will see the same mistakes….i remember now how much impressed me the BAKU with their costumes in INSURECTION..

Mmm. John Cho and Anton Yelchin. Super hot Sulu and Chekov (to go along with the previous posters of the new Spock and Kirk). Nice to know that the Bad Robot penchant for providing plenty of eye candy isn’t stopping with this movie.
