We shouldn’t even dignify Paris Hilton with any comments. She and her contemporaries (Britney, Nicole Richey, Lindsay Lohan, etc.), and tabloid-readers’ obsession with them, rank with “reality T.V.” and runaway capitalism as key examples of how our culture is irremediably decadent. Fortunately, the “Post Atomic Horror” is only about 40 years away, after which the logical, Technocratic society of Trek (no doubt inspired by First Contact with the Vulcans) will come into being and replace liberal democracy and captialism (seriously, see the “Technocracy, Inc.” website for more information on this eminently rational, fair, progressve, abundance-based economic system. Just add replicators, and you’ve got the closest analog to Trek’s economics as seen in the eps and movies. It’s even got “credits,” and doesn’t use money, a la Picard’s statement in “First Contact”).
Anyway, I can’t say enough times that we should just totally ignore these divas, and stop reacting to their latest “sexploits,” ranting about them in our posts…

You gotta be kidding. Go back and watch Return of the Jedi and tell me one ‘bad ass’ thing Solo did in that movie? He accidently — while blind and oblivious — knocks Boba Fett into the Sarlac or whatever. Then he gets tied up by Care Bears. Then he — twice! — sneaks up behind bad guys, taps them on the shoulder and runs!! That’s it!! Why’d they even thaw him out?!

Kirk’d do his famous two-footed flying kick and knock Solo on his spice-smuggling ass. Yeesh.

I hadn’t known (but should have suspected) that Rainn Wilson was a Star Trek fan. As a recent convert to the American “Office,” he is flat-out hilarious as Dwight and can steal the show from Steve Carell!

James Kirk vs. Han Solo? Kirk the enlightened human and diplomat would talk Solo out of a fight before it would even get started. They’d then get together over some Saurian brandy and crack each other up with tales of their past adventures.

Hmmm…. I was always in the camp that Kirk and Solo wouldn’t fight. They’d team up and kick the shit out of Palpatine and Vader, and not even need any of that old Force nonsense, nor Skywalker Junior, nor Obi Wan Hotel.

The fart video is moronic. If they want to remaster something, get the old Trek Blooper reels, and remaster those. There were already a couple ‘windy’ moments in there.
