Maybe the corridors themselves, and not the running. Don’t forget, NCC-1701-D has a “No Running” policy.

Maybe they are referring to the “look” of the hallways. That shot on the official website (on the shipyard camera feeds if you waited long enough) kind of looked similar to TNG corridors.

Honestly, I hardly ever remember anyone running through the corridors on TNG. Even when the ship was .0005 seconds away from exploding, they never seemed to do more than walk briskly.

Over at Ain’t It Cool, a reader who attended the Paramount press junket in London reported back on his take on what he saw of Abrams channeling Rodenberry:

We saw the teaser trailer and then we saw what looked to be a very very early version of the full trailer – It showed more footage of Quito as Spock, much more Chris Pine and also some John Cho and Simon Pegg footage. The film looks like immense fun and there seems to be a lot of action in it. There look of the crew and the bridge is spot on and the costumes look like the original but with a more modern and practical twist. We got to see Spock talking to his parent as well and Kirk being told to take more responsibility. There were also a lot of montage scenes involves spaceship battles, gun fights and hand to hand combat. I especially like a short clip where we see the crew running through the corridors of the Enterprise – reminded me of next generation loads.

But if reading that the movie will be action-packed, faithful to the original but not beholden to it and, most importantly, feature hot Vulcan parental-child conversations, doesn’t excite you, then maybe you’d be more interested in knowing that the movie’s release will also include the first full trailer for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.

Between Star Trek, Transformers 2 and GI Joe, I think we can pretty much expect Paramount to own next summer’s box office.”

I’m with you.

To be screaming for a full trailer 8 months before the movie release date is ridiculous. Save the first looks of the Enterprise as well as the cast & set shots for when you really need them. During the buildup to the friggin release date!

I can’t wait, but I can. Ya know what I mean?

Oh lawd, that’s scares me a bit. Especially since TNG never seemed to have ANYONE in the ship’s corridors..much less crewmwmbers running. The ship was much smaller in TOS, but it sure seemed a lot busier. I guess because they were fighting the perils and dangers of the universe instead of arguing about whether or not a kid should be allowed on the bridge.

Perhaps. But that so-called “report”, even if true, revealed absolutely nothing which was not known already. And Anthony must have realized that; hence, no spoiler warning.

If ‘BUTTON’ is Paramount’s ingenious plan to publicize STAR TREK, then someone needs to think again.
The geek audience will be at THE SPIRIT.
Families will be at MARLEY.
And BUTTON will split the date, geezer and Academy audiences with MARLEY.

Maybe the trailer won’t pop in two weeks, but it certainly would make sense to run the trailer early and often throughout the holiday season.

QUANTUM OF SOLACE on November 14 makes sense, too.
