No dude, I get jokes. But as a musician, you should know better than to mention Aldo Nova. We all had forgotten him, and now his music has been played again in my head, thanks to you. You have done us all a disservice.

(BTW, I'm not so thick as to not know what you were getting on about.)

While I always enjoy The Shat, I can understand why they ultimately didn't "use" him for the new movie, in any significant role. His "Free Enterprise" was really great, but also kind of took the wind out of the actor being taken seriously as Kirk ever again -- though he has delivered something equally different and interesting on Boston Legal.

In his old Live Video that you have here, I think he actually had a good point with his Jurassic Park analogy -- it really wouldn't be so hard to write him into the movie in some capacity -- and it sounds like Bob Orci and AK did -- however, Shat apparently wanted a larger role, and that just isn't feasible in today's Trek, I'd argue, with his current "public persona." But yeah, that video is really "telling," Shatner obviously knew more than he was letting on...

Nimoy's presence and career is an entirely different story, and I think he actually deserves this one-more-go-around special role that it looks like he will be getting.

You know, that "Get a life" comment upset me too, I think I was 15 or 16 when he said it, don't really remember... But, as everyone says, it was a joke, in poor taste perhaps, but what ever... Shatner truly has always been my hero (which is why the comment was so biting...)

Every time I see him, I think of him with the greatest of esteem, maybe even more than my own DAD!!!! I will be very sad when he leaves us... I got very teary eyed when Kirk died in "Generations"; that was probably the worst Trek moment to that date (Data dying in "Nemesis" was the other...)

He deserves to be full of himself, it demonstrates that he has good judgement. Think of all the people he has influenced all over the world?! Seriously, I doubt there has been ANYONE who has influenced more people! He SHOULD be full of himself! It's not like he is malicious or demented so who does he hurt? But who has he HELPED, just by being himself?...

I can only surmize those who are critical of him are jealous of his accomplishments, I know I am! I only wish I could have lived up to be half the man he is! Really, think about it, if William Shatner bagan to champion any cause, do you not think that he would elicit an immense response? Who could deny him? I wouldn't be supprised if he could even conjure up a massive coupe! He truly is very influential!

Long live the Shat!

Caught the Shat. He looks great. Hope he lives long enough to have JJ figure out a way to put him in the sequel, at least.

Isn't it frustrating? To have him around, and obviously working, still popular, and yet not playing Capt Kirk anywhere? Priceline is great and all, but Shatner is Kirk, Kirk is Shatner. Think of how you felt when George Harrison passed away.

SNL has sucked for the past few years, it just is not funny anymore they have had bad guests and guest hosts, the cast is not memorable and the comedy is juvenile and not creative like it used to be, this season will not be different from what I saw last night. Here is the thing can anyone currently on the show hold a candle to Eddie Murphy, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, etc.?

It's always nice to see the Shat. Now I just need the other 87 minutes of my life back. Nothing against Michael Phelps, but the host and cameo positions should have been switched; it would have been far more entertaining.

#33 "Yes, Shat’s biggest mistake of his life, biting the hands that fed him."

uh...yeah...that skit really tanked his career. I bet he's sorry he did that, we sure showed him!
