everyone...we have bigger things to worry about than the emmys...like if we're going to have money to see the new film, what with a real possibility of another Great Depression very likely

We did see Shatner as Kirk one last time. It was called "Star Trek: Generations".

#64.

Agreed about the Shatner bit. Bring him back, no explanations necessary. Maybe JJ and co. will get the idea if we talk about it enough.

JJ, considering the way that Bill pretty much begged you to be in your movie on TheShatnerProject.com, I think you should give in. Offer him the cameo, he'll probably take it. Do it for the fans. It's not too late. Dammit what if he dies and we never get to see Shatner as Kirk one last time?

Seinfeld was not the best comedy moment. Friends won it. (And Buffy won best drama moment.) Read my post #28 and follow the link.

A possible Emmy-award for best 'ridiculous television moment'? Pah!...small potatoes. Only an initial 'cinematic' BIG SCREEN revelation can possibly do justice to the marvellous popular culture experience for many, that would be a brief 'alive and well', post-'Generations', elderly Kirk (present-day Shatner) combined once again with the present-day Nimoy as elderly Spock....

'Reassembled DNA'? Double Pah!!.... It seems from certain comments by the makers that it is likelier and likelier that this 'TOS'-centric Star Trek 're-launch' will 'honour' previous onscreen Trek 'canon' and 'events', and 'not interfere' with them, by merely side-stepping a lot of them in some 'alternative timeline' way. The 'supposedly dead' Kirk that was shown in a previous audience generation's big screen incarnation is just that now....a generation ago....and needn't be a 'problem' in any way.

Just stick a decently-designed tunic on Bill with no explanations necessary, with no gobbledygook needed....with his existing DNA and waistline intact....and away we go for some sort of warm and respectful 'handover' moment, hopefully with Leonard, however brief, and even 'new' audiences can still easily get on being involved in this current storyline's shiny 'alternative TOS timeline' crew and their (hopefully) further adventures.

#55 - How sad a comment on our modern world it is that that Seinfeld episode won best comedy moment when there's so much less-crass and funnier moments in TV history. Ralph Cramden teaching Ed Norton how to tee off a golf ball is funnier than that entire Seinfeld episode.

#10 - Carell wasn't squirming. He was staying deadpan for a rehearsed comedy bit. All this crap is staged. Don't you know that?

So does anyone know what happened with all the hoopla for voting online for the best dramatic moment in TV history at the ABC website. I voted for "City on the Edge of Forever" at least a dozen times, and it looked like they didn't do an effin' thing with these votes. Instead, we got three hours of pure crap.

As I said in another thread early last night, Shatner was robbed. He does superb work on "Boston Legal."

#38 - I totally agree. I was getting ready to phone my mom to tell her about it at the start of the skit because Laugh-In was her favorite show. I'm glad I didn't wake her up, ruin her sleep and waste her time. It looked like Alan Sues was drunk for real ... "This is Uncle Al, the kiddies' pal ..."
