Yes, I look forward to it.

And in a totally unrelated genre - if Maynard Ferguson's daughter Kim gets her docu-movie about her father going it'll be a good year for documentaries. Been waiting for it for a while now. Any jazz fans know anything about that one?

Super! I saw a very early trailer for this over three or four years ago and even though I wish I were in it... :-) I'm finally glad to see it's getting closer to an actual release.

Fantastic! Now, if Rod could get this released around next May to help with the overall buzz, that would be great. If not in the Theater, then at least on the SciFi network. I grew up in the south in a religious household and have had to work hard to shed some of the doctrine I learned and I credit Trek with allowing me to develop into a thinking, questioning individual...Futurama's Church of Trek might not be to far off the mark...lol....Thanks Gene for the course you have helped me set for my life....Thanks Rod for bringing this to us....

Let us never forget my two favorite phrases uttered by James T. Kirk....

"All I ask is a tall ship and a star to stear her by" and "2nd star to the right and straight on till morning"

I think incorporating that into our universe says it all.....

The rather long piece runs more like a mini-doc. I hope there are some international footage and not just have it focus on fans in the US.

I'm looking forward to more movie coverage, esp TMP. Supposedly, Gene Roddenberry had an infamous blooper reel made of all the gaffes from the first movie that director Wise despised since it would damage his reputation. Some snippets of that and more behind-the-scenes photos and short films would be lots of fun.

If the new Trek film is a major hit, this doc should do well to be released on its heels...say late summer, early fall...fall to coincide with the DVD release.

42, I second your comment.

The footage of the documentary looks stunning but I hope it will also contain a critical view on Star Trek and maybe even Gene Roddenberry. Many things in this franchise and this story are great and inspiring and even shaked up the world as we know it a bit, yet it has very certainly it's flaws and I'd love for that to be incorporated into the film as well.

Time will tell.
