There was no ‘jeopardy’ for anyone but secondary characters, and those characters just weren’t that interesting. We already knew the end of the story, and the ‘how’ was rather…well, disappointing.

I think a key element in Bad Robot’s ‘Star Trek’ which seperates it from what ailed Lucas’ prequel trilogy is the fact that it’s not really a ‘prequel’ at all. Although it is described as “an origin story”, the very plot (from the little we know of it) involves the potential for some of what we know, or even everything significant we know, being rendered irrelevant. It is the potential “alternate timeline” which makes the “future” less certain, and provides just enough ‘jeopardy’ to keep things interesting for the primary characters.

It is therefore not so limited to just ‘how’ and ‘why’. It should include a good bit of ‘when’, ‘where’, ‘who’, and ‘what’ as well…

Lucas may have had a little foresight in the recent SW movies.

Also, how about a variety show “Live from Jabba’s Palace”. Mmmm, gold bikinis. Cast Hugh Hefner’s 3 housegirls. He needs the money. Maybe they could get the Wookiees to reprise their Star Wars Christmas Special celebration.

few things other than my dvds get me to turn on the telly, but that would do it.

Glad people like Star Wars Prequel show. But Mongo like IV-V-VI. Mongo think it be neat if George Lucas mans write story about thing after VI. Use voice of actors from originals and do CGI movies. And have lead up to live action movie with Luke, Leia, Han, Chewy, and robots. Show what happen to empire, rebellion, if new Sith try make comeback. And show characters as older people who try lead galaxy and guide new generation of Jedi.
