#25: You’d be fine. You might get a bit more out of it if you had been reading the recent TNG books, but anything that you need to know in order to follow the story is explained within the trilogy. So go forth and buy it! :-)

That was really well written. Either that or I’m such a huge nerd that I could envision exactly everything he described. Does anyone think I could just pick up book one of this trilogy and not be completely lost, having never read any of the relaunch books?

I find myself enjoying David Mack’s writing more and more. For now, he doesn’t seem to have the vast encyclopaedic knowledge of KRAD, nor the flippant humour of PAD, but I think it’s safe to say that his contributions to the Star Trek Pocket novel saga are nothing short of legendary, at this point.

It’s fantastic to see him grow as a writer and take on bigger and bigger plots and broader scopes with each new story. I’m definitely picking up the Destiny trilogy, but preferably when they put it all together in one book.

Make it so, Pocket!
