It could have been a relapse of the virus that then would have necessitated a usage of Phlox's vaccine again. However, as the Klingon Genome had evolved in the 125 years since it was used, the ridge removing side effects were less prominent and the ridges grew back at a much faster rate. See all it takes is a little imagination and you as a fan can come up with your own explanation that still fits within scientific and historical canon.

Gentleman's bet is on. Regardless of what they change it to. If they DO change it, then it was close enough to the "S" sound for them to make that change.

No offence taken from you either, this is all healthy discussion.

Cheers!

How do you explain the extremely under-ridged Klingons from The Undiscovered Country?

Did not show on the Mega screen at the 1:00pm showing of Quantum of Solace on Nov. 14 at the Wehrenberg Galaxy 14 in Chesterfield, MO. The Start Trek trailer was the reason I paid a $2 premium for the big screen.

Oh to add one more thing to my comment #961.
For those of you who noticed the klingon and said "Hey they have ridges on their foreheads." Remeber Enterprise stipulated that the klingons would eventually regain their ridges. It's possible that certain bloodlines grew their ridges back faster than others, hence why the ridges are not full blown ridges like TNG but more along the lines of subtle ridges like the original crew movie era Klingons. Just putting that out there as food for thought. Remeber relax and be patient. I'm just as anxious as the rest of you. But, I'm going to do my best to wait for the story to unfold. Remeber alternate timelines can flow together as multiple paths to the same destination.

962. Pizza - November 15, 2008

Wax in the ears or not, I’ve looped that part of the traier, even looked at the kids mouth and lips without sound to ‘read’ his lips. Anyway you cut it, the kid has bastardized “Tiberius” into sounding like Siberius.

:) Yeah, this isn't a biggie, so I'm not bickering back at you. But I did the same thing--looping the clip and reading his lips--and I have exactly the opposite take on it. To me, he very clearly says "Tiberius," both the sound and the lip motion.

This is like song lyrics. I know people who swear up and down by their interpretation of what they've heard, while others hear exactly the opposite. Like you said, nothing to have a hissy over, but it's an interesting tidbit. Here we are, having exactly opposite reactions to a single sound from a kid in a trailer; no wonder Trek fans can't agree on anything more substantial! :)

Ah, I am so happy to be talking about Kirk and crew again like this...even the disagreements! Even with the changes, it feels like going back to visit old friends; they aren't the same as I remember, the colors have shifted, but the fun is still there.

And I'm betting they'll re-cut the clip to have the kid say, "James T. Kirk." :)
