Yeah I have both the FC E-E and the INSURRECTION E. I was very happy to see how accurate the INS E was.

And the Captain's Yacht was pretty cool.

And I've never heard of HIDDEN EVIL until now. Considering how deep into Trek I was at the time, and that I was a teenager, that should tell you how poorly it was apparently marketed.

I get the "long episode" criticism of INS, but it's pretty fun in the end. I enjoyed it. I need to pick up the Special Edition. The original release was one of the first DVD's I bought waaaay back in the day when I first got a DVD player.

#60: Yeah. They still had to build up a new villain and associated group for the crew to be fighting with, but having them go against Starfleet's orders to screw over a small group because it was just the wrong thing to do made it much more human than most of the other movies.

60. Sloan47

I agree completely, and that's what I meant when I suggested Gene Roddenberry would have loved this movie -- it was the most Star Trek of the TNG films, and while it does seem like a 'glorified episode' I really wodner what more we'd want from Star Trek -- though having Earth in peril would have been more to my liking in Generations -- without us ever seeing the people of the Veridian star system the stakes felt very low, so even just getting to know those people like we did the Baku would have helped in that department.

AND PS -- I love how the Star Trek DS9 relaunch novels sort of retconned this incident to be a Section 31 operation.

Though I guess having a rogue element in Starfleet probably WOULDN'T have been Gene's favorite, but I like it. It allowed Picard to reassert Gene's vision with righteous indignation on his side - YEAH!

Did I mention that I like this movie?

67. DJ Neelix: 'Have you gone ill, Dom? ;-)'

Well, y'know, if it's in a boxset with all the other Treks. On its own, no way Jose!

I own Treks I-VI on DVD out of choice. Generations was a free gift, although I just can't watch it all the way through!

Now the new movie makes it officially possible to see all of TNG as a separate universe and therefore makes it more or less official that the Kirk who dies in Generations isn't the Kirk from STVI, I can live a little easier!

I had the Deanna Troi figure, think my niece has her now, drinking tea with the Bratz.... How am I gonna get her back?
The toys for for INS were good, and more readily available than others.

I remember nothing about this movie. Some of the action figures look like they were well done.
