I LOVE how Shatner always says things like “My dear friend Leonard, he won’t even tell me what the movie is about!”. But now he says he was given a fake script. How would he know it was a fake script if he knew nothing about the movie?

And do you really believe that Bill and Leonard, best friends, are having dinner together and Nimoy is saying “Sorry Bill, cant give you the plot, even though if you visited trekmovie.com, you could see it for yourself”?

Bill has been all over the place with his statements. So has JJ, and Mr. Orci (who I love and think is great) has also made many odd and contradictory statements on the Shatner issue the past year or so right here at trekmovie.

Oh, and I also love how, when Nimoy was involved, we were all told that was because the story was basically a Spock story. Now we hear its a Kirk story.

Something very fishy going on here ladies and gents.

I would have loved to see Shatner as Kirk’s mean uncle in the new movie. I think it would have been wild to see him play a darker character.

I did some basic reseach with this website and posted it here at TrekMovie a little while ago, but it got deleted by the TM staff for some reason or another. I think I posted it in a non-Shatner article. ; )

Basically my research consisted of counting the Shatner articles posted on TrekMovie for one year (Nov 07 to Nov 08). I included only the Shatner specific articles with replies above 300. Then I compared it to all the articles that were not Shatner based and counted them.

The results were…

47 articles (with +300 replies) that were about SHATNER
50 articles (with +300 replies) that were not about SHATNER

So, i think you are right with 50%.
At least here there seems to be almost 100% greater interest with William Shatner on board.

Speaking of “ST- Enterprise,” does anyone know if the series had continued for a fifth year (and onward — it is a damn shame that it didn’t) would Trip’s death been a subterfuge as it has become in the novels?

I, for one, refuse to accept Trip was meant to remain dead in canon. Anyone know if Manny Coto et al had plans if the series had gone forward?

Any thoughts anyone?

If Shatner is in this film, I guarantee DOUBLE the box office. We prpbably wont know until after it comes out. Part of me thinks that these “special screenings” where they show bits of the film to the press is so they dont all freak out when they dont get to screen the film before it is released. And why would they not get to screen it…. Mmmmmm….. So the surprise ending won’t be ruined, me thinks!!
