Comments on: Star Trek Christmas Marathons on TV

Now, I’m probably wrong, but it looked like the movie marathon on Space featured restored versions of the films, cause from what I saw (sorry, didn’t have the time to watch it all, but I would switch over to it once and while for extended viewings), and they looked fairly good, even though I don’t get the channel in HD, it just looked like some work had been done to clean them up. All of them were played in the OAR letterboxed forms, and it seems VI was the long lost (or so I thought) theatrical version, simply omitting a few scenes here and there.

SciFi has been utter crap for years. Battlestar Galactica is the exception, as is the occasional Trek.

I’m not a TV DVD purchaser, so I appreciate the occasional marathon. I haven’t seen some of these for years.

I got to watch quite a bit of the SciFi Trekathon, and enjoyed it very much! It wasn’t a “best of” marathon, just a marathon, and it was nice to see a few eps that I haven’t seen in a while! Very cool!

Curious.

I wonder how many people from this site would actually watch these marathon shows. I imagine most of the posters here either own them
or have seen them a numerous times & will watch Trek when it suits them not the Sci-Fi stations.
Perhaps these screenings will hook some channel-surfing newbies and continue to build momentum for the next movie.

Good choice of eps for the TNG marathon. I am pleased to see some of the lesser-known episodes in there, rather than all the heavy-hitters. Would’ve ben better if we had Canada’s present though of all 10 movies.

Who made the episode choices? Obviously the staff at this channel are complete idiots.
