Fans in US and Canada are getting a Cable TV Star Trek Christmas present. SciFi Channel is running a Star Trek The Next Generation marathon all day long, starting 8 AM Christmas morning. And for Canadians, there is a Star Trek movie marathon with all 10 Trek movies starting Christmas eve and running through Friday, details below.

Public Memorial Announced For Majel Barrett Roddenberry

The Roddenberry family has announced the details for the memorial service for Majel Barrett Roddenberry, which will be at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills on January 4th. The public are invited to attend, but are asked to add their name to an online list at Roddenberry.com so they can make appropriate plans. More details and info below.

On Sunday night Star Trek’s new Scotty Simon Pegg was the guest host on the Christmas edition of Sunday Night Project, a comedy show airing on the UK’s Channel 4. Pegg talked (and joked) about the new Trek a bit with the show’s regular hosts Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr, and generally had a good time. The new Star Trek movie is 136 days away, but the original plan was for it to be here in just three days, on Christmas. Back in February Paramount moved the film to the bigger summer season, but director JJ Abrams has pretty much stuck with his original schedule. Today Abrams posted a comment for fans at the official Star Trek Facebook page about the status of the movie. Read it below.
