they chose that creepy looking marilyn manson look-alike over chiwetel ejiofor for the new doctor? ejiofor was awesome in serenity and would have made the first doctor who (no pun intended) would have kicked everyones butt no problem.

I now feel relieved that the BBC has now named a new Doctor. Once they announced that Tennant was leaving, I was very worried that they would cast someone not quite up to par on compared to the tenth Doc, but now I feel very happy.

A little late, I know, but you might want to check the spelling for the title of this entry - something tells me that "Docotor Who" isn't a real show. :)

Since there has been no word of it on here... NBC's My own worst Enemy was canceled just after 9 episodes. They ended it on a cliffhanger. Freakin NBC pisses me off.

thenewK2:

I'm open to anything. Let's trade material to read and see what happens! Just click and follow the link.

I think flashbacks of the Time War would probably be counter-productive, because they'd be out of context. Many a Whovian would scream "It's not canon!"

Oh, wait...

#58 Dom

I guess that did come across as a little harsh in hindsight. I love many a 'middle-class' actor, and also don't like reverse snobbery for the sake of it, from oiks like myself. While not a 'chav', I must admit that alas, I've never yet read the 'Guardian', nor attended a University....but on the other hand, at least I don't have any of that self-loathing either that you mentioned!

Seriously, I was just very surprised and disappointed that this particular actor, who comes across as a very young 'Public School educated'-type of 'middle class' (there are many types) was picked for this star-making role of the, out of the many potentially superior options available for ....

I firmly believe that he just won't have anywhere near the 'edge' or 'gravitas' of the previous 2 actors in the role, and will not prove anywhere near as good. There was NO need to cast so young to try and grab that 'youth demographic' (which, as I suspect the producers are misguidedly catering specifically now), considering the 2 previous actors have ALREADY made this resurgent Doctor Who show as huge a success with a BROAD audience range across the board.... Why try to 'fix' something that is already appealing to the mass audience in general? I suspect that this new actor will not be as 'appreciated' by certain members of the current demographic watching, if it is turning into Doctor Who:the Wonder Years. Give me ANOTHER 'middle-class', more 'worldly-wise' face anyday for this role....give me a Paul McGann as he is now again, or a Bill Nighy -type anyday of the week!

#33 Charles Trotter--I think you missed a more direct connection between that particular SGA episode and Star Trek. Two were talking, I think one was McKay and Woosley. (I'm doing this from memory--I'm sure someone can post a more accurate description) McKay answering a question about where a particular wraith went--"No he got a job as a Klingon in Start Trek the Experience" Woosley says "No they closed that down"

Wow what a great post!,
The very thought of more Red Dwarf, blows me away!
Easily the best tv sci-fi comedy ever!!!!
I long to see a new series or film with the fab 6, Rimmer, Lister, Kolchanski, Holly, Kryten, and The Cat.

Those that haven't heard of the show need to check it out as its the UK's version of Star Trek meets Twilight Zone, meets LEXX,,,,,!

#57 "Did he finish the war intact and then slip on a banana peel?"

That would be funny. Defeat the Daleks at the cost of every single time lord and survive, just to slip and bust your head on the TARDIS console and wake up Chris Eccelston.

And, at some point in the story, the Doctor had to open the Heart of the TARDIS as part of the plan to destroy the Daleks, and let the Master out in the process.

I think we're coming up with this thing on our own...who needs the BBC! We'll write it ourselves, right here! :-)
