We're planning on watching it again because there's something we want to check - when they are away from the Enterprise, we don't remember seeing them use their communicators. They were talking to the ship like on Next Generation episodes - where the communicators were pinned on their uniforms. Is this an oversight? I think I have that same communicator...a pair of them in fact. I got them for my birthday in 1977... They are made by Mego. I guess they just got rid of the telescoping antennae...but I do have the same insignia on the front. Maybe they should use one of the phaser toys from the same era for their rendition of the new movie version. I guess it's easy to get a job in Hollywood these days as a designer!
