The episode was kinda funny. The show reminds me of a really clean-cut, less gritty “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” type thing.

I don’t find any allusion (within the finished film itself) to her mixed heritage backstory, aside from her emotional displays at the sight of Peter Preston’s dying body and at the presentation of Spock’s eulogy, which (taken alone) isn’t really evidence of anything.

But its inclusion and intregal importance to the character in the novelizations of TWOK and TSFS, along with the acknowledgement of the intent to begin with, assures its place in ‘fanon’.

u #57 i think you’re grabbin at straws there…that Romulan Ale line was meant to imply that despite her being VULCAN and given Bones’ halfhate of Vulcans he STILL was hot for her because of how strong the Romulan Ale was

McCoy alludes to the fact that Saviik is part Romulan during the turbolift scene in TWOK. After she exits the lift, Bones turns to Kirk and says “Powerfull stuff, that Romulan Ale.”

Anyone notice that this show’s executive producer and creator is none other than Nancy Hower (aka Ensign Samantha Wildman from Voyager)? Not sure if anyone mentioned it above in the thread, but pretty cool. (And, yes, I really didn’t think it was that funny, but there were a couple of chuckles.)
