#35 - I think I need a ShamWow to gat all the coffee off my computer screen! That was the cheering up my day needed.

Are all the scientists grumpy, pessimistic, highly religious, and can't stand each other's company, too? ;)

#2-- Of course Hollywood rolls on. The best movies were made during the worst financial times of and following the Great Depression into and after WWII (another massive downturn in the economy. Citizen Kane, Wizard of Oz, Jaws, Star Wars, Close Encounters, ST-TMP, Alien... all made when the economy was in the tank.

Hard times are the breeding ground of greatly loved films.

Can't say i'm happy about a remake of 'The Thing'. Its one of my all time favorite horrors and i doubt they'll be able to match the tension and atmosphere created in the John Carpenter version. From what i've read the film will be more of a prequel rather than i direct remake. The article i read had mention of Macreadie's (Kurt Russel) brother being in it or something.

'Predator' is also something i'm not sure they should be rebooting. Maybe making a continuation i.e Predator 3 or something and ditch the whole AVP idea cos its just not working!

Johnny Quest?

Is something being done with the legendary Hanna-Barbera series "The Adventures of Johnny Quest" that I missed a report about.

I have mixed emotions about that. The 1964 series was phenomenally good and I'd hate to see a reboot that botches it up (the 1990s cartoon version was a mix of good and bad).

oh... update 15 days and a wake up and I'm coming home!!!!

Oh Boy, The Thing with Ron Moore special sauce.

Let's see, The Creature is now Really Human, and we must understand that it's an Angst Ridden Female Alien, strong and in charge, yet drug addicted and desperatly horny for sex with every other screen viewed character in the movie.

We'll find out that the Creature was the result of genetic experiments by an Angst Ridden Genius, who drove the Creature to it's deeds by having sex with it. Then in his guilt addled, Angsty stupor, he begins hearing the Creatures voice in his head.

Now instead of the Creature being frozen in the Arctic for hundreds or thousands of years, we find out that it in face had just been placed there about 20 minutes earlier by the twisted, yet sympathetic and Angsty Genius........

Oh Boy, I can't wait....

To Miss it!

I must further comment some more on JOE.

Sienna Miller looks de-freakin-licious as the Baroness. Yet I doubt she will have the :::ahem::: necessary attributes to pull off the iconic role.

The Destro dude (Christopher Eccleston) does not look, at all, like a badass. Destro was a badass, and this guy looks like some generic mustache twirling villain (sans mustache of course). (Like he played in 'Gone in 60 Seconds').

This breaks my heart because GIJOE was such a part of my childhood. What I want to know is how can you take those proud characters and turn them into X-MEN wanna-be's?

I hope someone reboots it right one day.

Unbelievable that a reboot of "The Thing" is called for.
The 1980 film worked just fine.
I fear the reboot will be as flimsy at the remake of "The Fog".
And a reboot of "Predator"? Guess these are the signs of the times; loss of creativity.
