Oh!!! Fantastic! And my parents have also expressed interest in seeing this movie (hopefully they can get over the “R” rating and let me go..) and this’d be a fantastic opportunity to catch the NEW TRAILER. For once, I’d be as excited about the actual movie as the trailer… Watchmen looks absolutely incredible; at least in Special Effects terms.

Looking forward to seeing it March 6th.

According to the article above, at least some new footage will be included in the March trailer.

From the first paragraph above:

“This new theatrical trailer will premiere on March 6th in front of the biggest movie of the Spring, Watchmen, and it will include brand new footage not seen in past trailers.”

I expect it to be a combination of material we have already seen and new images as well. Even the 30 second Super Bowl ad featured a couple of things we did not see in the trailer attached to QOS.

About what I said about Watchmen not being Paramount when in fact IT IS! Whoops! Talk about getting your foot caught in your mouth. It’s been a long week for me. Watchmen IS done by Paramount and Warner Bros. My mistake! My apologies!

Superman III did suck, for sure.

But seeing real neighborhoods in real cities adds a degree of reality that digital tech cannot replicate. Look at every Bond film. The locations are all characters in the story.

And if you live, or have visited places which are “faked” by the filmmaker, it pulls you out of the story. A good example is “Gorky Park.” It was made in Helsinki, not Moscow. I lived in Moscow for years, and the film offers no familiar points of reference. I can’t watch it because the main character is not where he’s supposed to be.

We know Superman’s “Metropolis” is NYC, as he does his requisite fly-bys of its landmarks in the first film. But in “III,” it’s obvious that all has changed. The film sucked anyway, but that didn’t help.

There are dozens of great “New York” films, “LA” films, “San Francisco” or “Chicago,” etc. films where the city plays a distinct role.

I happen to like Watchman. The graphic novel is one of my favorites right up there with Wanted and V for Vendetta. However, it is definitely not for everyone. The story is multilayered and very complex.

I hope they show some new footage from the Star Trek movie. I am a massive Simon Pegg fan and I want to see more of him in action as Scotty. I am so looking forward to this movie.

Long time Lurker first time Poster…
So first off thank all of you for the site and the community. The Idea that I can read the thoughts of people like Anthony, Bob and Chris and all the others is wonderful and I cherish it. I also feel that what Anthony has built here will last long after this Trek Film has come and gone…

As for Watchmen, I must say I feel the same way Money is getting very tight and although I want to go see it in a theatre. Not knowing the story and the characters it is hard to justify spending 30.00 – 40.00 on a night at the movies for this. The trailers look good but …. Even for a self professed Geek as I consider my self to be, I ‘m just not feeling it. The discussion here has done more to make me want to see it than any of the trailer info.

I just don’t see it being a hit unless word of mouth and reviews spike it upwards… we will see.

But with all that has been said I may read the novel…
